November 2009 - Scouting for Food Our annual community service project was HUGELY successful despite the tough economic times. On Satruday November 14, scouts went out into their neighborhoods and hung door knockers which informed the public about the food drive. On Saturday, November 21 the scouts went back into the neighborrhoods and collected two F350 pickup trucks of food which weighed in at 4244 lbs of food that was donated to the Masters House a home for men who are working through tough times in their lives. In a letter to Troop 101 David Pearcy of The Masters House writes:
It is with sincere gratitude that we say, Thank you" for all your hard work in the food drive this year. To all of the scouts, every parents and scout leaders who donated their time and effort, "Thank You". Because of your hard work...
Troop 101 collected 4,244 pounds of non-perishable food items this year.
Your thoughtfulness, time and hard work relieves us of a great financial obligation. This allows us to provide for other essentials including housing for more men who want to continue on the right path for their life. Your hard work touches each man of the house all throughout the year. You are a part of each life who resides at the Masters House!
All of your efforts makes a tremendous difference in the lives of the men who come through our doors. Without your renerosity it would be impossible for us to provide for the needs of the house. You are all a vital part of this ministry.
Once again, a heartfelt thank you. Please remember us in your prayyers during the coming year and may God richly bless each of you.
With deep appreciation, Davis PearcyExecutive Director of The Masters House
