Troop 101 is chartered through First Baptist Church in Shelby, North Carolina and serves the Battleground District of the Piedmont Council , Southern Region. Troop 101 was awarded Troop of the Year for 2008, a prestigious achievement attained through the dedicated service and accomplishments of our Boy Scouts. This Centennial Quality Unit is comprised of self-motivated competitive young men who serve God and their community, honor the principles of the Boy Scouts of America, and develop their character to become outstanding citizens and leaders.
Troop 101 incorporates BSA trained adult leaders to advise and assist Boy Scouts through a developmental program that awards personal and group achievement with a focus on leadership and outdoor skills. Utilizing the superlative training resources at the Scouting Complex, Trop 101 maintains a rich history of awards and upholds the tradition of active group participation from its members. Our fun, adventurous, diverse and safe activities build close friendships and camaraderie within the troop as we celebrate our journey of 80 years in scouting.

Mission

Scoutmaster’s Vision of Success
Troop 101 shall be and continue to be successful when:
- The Scouts learn and practice basic scouting skills and thus advance to First Class.
- The Scouts continue with their personal growth by advancement towards Eagle Scout.
- The Scouts plan and execute all troop activities.
- The Scouts practice the ideals of Scouting (the Oath and Law).
- The Scouts practice the Patrol Method.
- The Scouts are exposed to and associated with adults on a mature level.
